Korean girl group Jewelry has released Hot and Cold as its comeback single in over a year. The track was released July 5, and while it’s no Back It Up, it does have its own pop appeal. Hot and Cold is about a girl experiencing conflicting emotions for a guy, who already has a girl. I initially didn’t like the male voice in the chorus echoing the title – Hot hot hot, cold cold co co co hot and cold – but it grew on me, and it’s a pretty good track, all things considered.
Jewelry’s Hot and Cold MV also features Korean idol group ZE:A’s Hyungsik as the guard, as the girls’ prison concept finds them being rejected by guard Hyungsik, is unintentionally funny.
