Multiplatinum-selling vocal group Wilson Phillips will release Dedicated, the band’s first studio album since the 2010 holiday album Christmas in Harmony and the album California. According to Wilson Phillips’ official website, Chynna Phillips and sisters Carnie and Wendy Wilson are gearing for a January 2012 release date, and are taking pre-orders as early as now. Buzz on the girls’ Facebook page tells us that Wilson Phillips’ new album Dedicated may be another covers album, much to the disappointment of diehard fans, myself included, who have been looking forward to an album to new material, in what would have been Wilson Phillips’ first collection of new songs since 1991’s Shadows and Light, but you know what? We WilPhil fans will take what we can get!

Meanwhile, Chynna Phillips is a leading contender on hit ABC show Dancing With the Stars; her first performance, a Viennese waltz with partner Tony Dovolani, garnered 22 points out of 30, a tie for the highest score for the first round. Update (January 17): Carnie tweeted that Dedicated‘s launch has been pushed back to April 3rd. While we’re disappointed that it’s not coming out sooner, hey, it’s gonna be awesome, since she says so! Still hoping Chynna, Carnie, and Wendy will include their own take on Mama Cass’ Dream a Little Dream of Me; that’s gonna be a hit! Who’s with me?!
