Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter and former Newsboys lead vocalist Peter Furler is releasing Reach, his first solo single to radio on March 25, with the commercial digital single available on April 19; his solo debut album, On Fire, drops all across the USA June 7th on EMI.
Friends, Reach has “HIT” stamped all over it. Peter’s distinctive vocals are put on full display in this raw, exuberant declaration of faith in God’s love and provision. It’s not very different from his work with the Newsboys – it’s kinda hard to remove that kind of musical stamp, I imagine, when you’ve been singing with the same group for some twenty odd years, and been responsible for writing and producing most of their hits – but there is a joy that seems to be emanating forth from deep within Furler’s soul, and it is that emotion that is on bright, brilliant display in Furler’s solo debut single. I believe Christian AC/CHR radio will not have a problem embracing Peter Furler’s Reach, and it will be an easy Top 10 finish for his initial outing.
REACH Lyrics
Peter Furler
You hold the weight of the world
Still I don’t slip through Your hands
Your love is bigger than just an ocean built by man
I fall again and again but You whisper, “You’re still mine”
You feel the pain of the world but You never push mine aside
And You reach for me with a love that quiets all my fears
And You reach for me like a Father wipes away the tears
So many people in this world, but I hear You calling out my name
You reach for me, now I’m never gonna be the same
You know all of my fears, there’s nothing Your eyes can’t see
When I tried to give up, Lord, You never gave up on me
I give You all of my hopes and dreams, I lay them down
Of all the places I’ve looked Your the one truth I have found
You reach for me
You hold the weight of the world
Still I don’t slip through Your hands
You put the stars in the sky
You know every grain of sand
