Victory Worship has released its new album, Rise Heart, with the double A-side single, Rise Heart/Dance in Freedom, now being serviced to Christian AC in the Philippines. (Which is basically Saved Radio, Against the Flow, DZAS, and a few others.)
I personally think Dance in Freedom is a massive song. Massive. I’d normally expect to hear this kind of track from artists like Planetshakers, UNITED, or even Young and Free, so to hear this kind of sound from a Filipino worship group is already in itself bananas for me. But Yan Asuncion, the songwriter and lead vocalist on Victory Worship’s Dance in Freedom, has crafted what I believe to be a solid Christian pop hit. It’s so solid for radio, and the praise sensibilities are topnotch. From the instrumentation of the song to the brain candy singalong bridge, it’s just produced so masterfully that I think it’s irresistible. I really do. Absolutely stellar.
A disclaimer: I work with Victory Worship. I have tried to keep this review as unbiased as I can, but take it with a grain of salt and judge the song for yourselves. Cheers!
