Calvin and Hobbes tattoos at the beach

Today, several of my colleagues at Victory Christian Fellowship and I went to the Kamana Sanctuary Resort and Spa at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone for a day of unwinding and relaxation. This was my first time to Kamana and my first time to a beach resort in a very long time.

Now, I’m NEVER in shorts. But it would be ridiculous to wear jeans to the beach, so I came in shorts and exposed my pasty white legs to my officemates. Suffice it to say that they are now in the first part of “Amazing Grace.” The part that goes, “was blind.” Hopefully, God will heal them in time.

The bright side, however, is that my Calvin and Hobbes tattoos got a chance to go on full display! You wouldn’t think church workers would have skin art, but there were several among us who do.

C360_2015-06-22-14-05-03-824As you can see, I went to the beach in my trusty Nikes. Given a choice, I would have wanted a more comfortable shoe that would work at the beach (like something from Puma or Asics, for example. Click here to see Zalora’s Asics Gel Lyte 3 Collection.)

Since I got my tattoos of Calvin and Hobbes, I’ve always wanted the opportunity to expose them to the sun, but in Manila, people mock my legs. *grin* So, boom, the sun, sea, surf, and sand, plus the company of non-judgmental friends, meant I could be myself.

C360_2015-06-22-14-04-07-142After I took off my Nikes and put on a comfy pair of Jabulayos–my father-in-law gifted them to me from Nigeria–it was time to take Hobbes to the beach!

I’m looking forward to more time in the sun with my Calvin and Hobbes tattoos. The room is a delight, and the service is fantastic! What a great time to enjoy nature and my time with my friends!
