Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Jamie Grace has released Come to Me as the third single off her album, One Song at a Time, and it is wonderful. It is refreshing, it is encouraging. Written by Jamie after watching a video featuring Joanne Cash, sister of country singer Johnny Cash, who recalled a conversation with the legendary singer shortly before he died. The video of Ms Cash is featured in this embedded video of Jamie Grace’s Come to Me, and it is wonderful because the song is ultimately based on what Jesus told us in Matthew 11:28: “”Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Jamie wrote the verse into the chorus, and this harmony-laden, instantly catchy song is arguably the best radio single she’s released to date. Absolutely gorgeous.
COME TO ME Lyrics
Jamie Grace
I had a dream I was standing on the shore,
Two feet planted in the sand,
Soakin’ up Your glory
Yeah
Saw you walkin’ for a distance
Without a hint of resistance
You had your arms open and a warmth in Your eyes
You took my hand and You whispered
Come to me when you’re weary and
I’ll give you hope when you’re hurtin’
I’ll give you rest from your burden
Come to me when, you’re weary and
I’ll give you hope when you’re hurtin’
I’ll give you rest from your burden
Now…
I woke you to the weight of the world,
Right back into reality,
And all that’s going wrong,
Cause in the midst of the chaotic life,
I try to find peace of mind,
But You’ve been there all along,
And even now I hear You whisper,
Come to me when you’re weary and
I’ll give you hope when you’re hurtin’
I’ll give you rest from your burden
Come to me when, you’re weary and
I’ll give you hope when you’re hurtin’
I’ll give you rest from your burden
I feel the weight,
I feel the weight,
Is slowly liftin’ as You close the distance,
And I know it’s gonna be okay,
When I hear You say
Come to me when you’re weary and
I’ll give you hope when you’re hurtin’
I’ll give you rest from your burden
Come to me when, you’re weary and
I’ll give you hope when you’re hurtin’
I’ll give you rest from your burden
Now (oh right now)
I’ll give you hope when you’re hurtin’
I’ll give you rest from your burden
Now (I’ll give you rest)
Oh, the weight is lifted now
